Rotation Programs

Illinois Lung & Critical Care physicians rotate their time through the many areas of pulmonary care. Each physician spends approximately half the month in the hospital and the other half in the outpatient offices. Some of the areas include:

  • Interventional Pulmonary Lab - The physician spends his day doing invasive procedures in the hospital.

  • Outpatient Clinics - The physician spends the day either at the Peoria office or one of the satellite clinics, seeing new and established patients one-on-one.

  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU) - The physician spends the day as the attending physician in one of the many ICU's at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

  • Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) - The physician spends the day taking care of patients at the Peoria LTACH. The LTACH takes care of patients that were discharged from area hospitals, but still require some of the medical support, specialized, treatments and equipment before they are healed.

  • Hospital consult services - The physician sees patients in the hospital that do not require intensive care services.

Residents, Medical Students, & Teaching

All of the physicians at Illinois Lung have appointments to the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP). All of our physicians teach residents in the OSF Saint Francis Intensive Care Unit.

Some of our physicians teach at the medical school in a classroom setting. Advanced practice nursing students, medical students, and residents rotate through our main outpatient office to advance their knowledge in the treatment of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine patients.
